Lynn University’s Conservatory of Music Launches 2011-2012 Season in October
(Boca Raton, FL – September 28, 2011) Lynn University’s Conservatory of Music is launching its 2011-2012 Season this weekend with the Lynn Philharmonia, with both Guest Artist and Student performances on schedule for later in October.
Lynn Philharmonia
The Lynn University Philharmonia sets the standard for conservatory level symphonic training. Now in its 18th season as a full symphony, the Philharmonia continues to present high-quality concerts with a wide range of repertoire. The Philharmonia is directed by Albert-George Schram, who is also resident conductor of the Columbus and Nashville Symphonies.

Violin Master Class with CYRUS FOROUGH
Forough's unique succession of studies make singular his recognition as a prominent representative of the Franco‐Belgium school of violin playing, studying with legendary artists David Oistrakh, Josef Gingold, and at age 9 with Arthur Grumiaux. He has taught and performed at festivals in France, Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Rumania, Poland, Czech Republic, Canada, and the United States. His students are prizewinners of national and international competitions and members of professional orchestras worldwide. Mr. Forough is a professor at Carnegie Mellon University, an Artist faculty member of the Music Institute of Chicago Academy for gifted, and is a visiting professor at the Eastman School of Music.

CYRUS FOROUGH In Recital

Laureate of the Tchaikovsky International Violin Competition, Cyrus Forough has performed in recital and with orchestras throughout four continents including broadcasts on radio and television and command performances for international dignitaries. As winners of the USIA's National violin/piano Duo Competition with his wife, Steinway Artist Carolyn McCracken, they toured the Far East and South America representing the United States as Artistic Ambassadors. They have performed at the Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires, The National Gallery, Washington, D.C., The Phillips Collection, and the Kennedy Center. Cyrus Forough (violin) and Sung‐Im Kim (piano) will perform works of Leclair, Debussy, Bach and Ravel.

ICPP: The Glorious Instrumental Works of J.S. Bach
Thursday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
The Instrumental Collaborative Piano Program in collaboration with the woodwind, string and brass departments will present the hallmarks of Bach’s instrumental keyboard works. All works will be performed with harpsichord and will include the magnificent B minor flute and violin sonatas.

Concerto Competition Final Round
Finalists of the annual Conservatory Concerto Competition perform before a panel of guest judges. The distinguished visiting jury includes Jodi Levitz, Professor of Viola and Chamber Music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music; David Krauss, Principal Trumpet-Metropolitan Opera Orchestra; and TJ Lymenstull, piano-Interlochen Arts Academy, Montecito Festival (CA). Winners selected will perform as soloists with the Lynn Philharmonia in our annual Concerto Winner’s Concerts on December 3 & 4 at the Wold Performing Arts Center.
