BET’s DJ Prostyle Wins “Latin Mixx DJ of The Year” at the
6th Annual Latin Mixx Conference & Latin Mixx Awards 2011

New York, New York (July 18, 2011) – Creative Media Group celebrated their most successful year yet in their production of The Latin Mixx Conference & Latin Mixx Awards 2011, which was held from July 12-14 in New York City. The event, best known for their exclusivity of the Latin Market, recognized Latin DJs in a class of their own. The event also focused on the basic elements, which surround DJs within the Latin Market, such as Art, Fashion, Music, Entrepreneurship and Media.

The Latin Mixx Awards Show gave everyone attending the chance to celebrate. DJs, Artists, Executives, Models and Designers all dressed in their best, walked the Heineken “Green Carpet” in style. Awarded “Latin Mixx DJ of the Year,” Power 105.1 and BET’s 106 & Park deejay, DJ Prostyle hosted a portion of the show with 106 & Park’s co-host Rocsi Diaz. A special tribute was performed for the late great, DJ Threat that featured an amazing collaboration by Anointed S, Svet Radiosolv, Chocolatt Jared and a surprise performance by the one and only Jadakiss! As if that wasn’t enough the closing finale featured the ABDC dance crew Rhythm City with a special performance by their very own artist Domo.

A major highlight of the day was The Latin Mixx Icon Award reception for DJ Little Louie Vega hosted by Hennessy Black at Cielo, NYC. Louie’s fans, peers and family all joined together to recognize him as a true pioneer for the Latino community. Louie was truly in awe and the ambience set the stage with positive vibes and inspiration for following days’ Latin Mixx Awards.

The Awards took place at The Times Center in New York City, and was sponsored by Heineken, Hennessy, PepsiCo, BMI, Akoo, 1-800 Contaso, Billboard Pro and Music Choice. During the week, educational panels featured programming centered around Digital Marketing, Social Marketing and Management. Panelists included Johnny Marines of Aventura, Edgar Andino of Wisin Y Yandel, Carloyn “CC” Concepcion of Heineken and Lonnie Limon of Wave, The Marketing Arm. Hennessy then featured a special panel with The Hennessy Collective DJs: DJ Laz, DJ Eddie One, DJ Geraldo, Laura Stylez and DJ Omarcillo which was hosted by Manny Gonzalez of Moet Hennessy USA, afterwards Max Agande got to show off his DJing skills after a brief tutorial from DJ Laz. Finally, The Latin Mixx fashion show which featured beautiful models sporting the latest ready to wear lines from: Akoo, Sean John, Apple Bottoms and Cavi.

As always The Latin Mixx Awards, took off without a hitch. Sito Rocks of the Mun2 hit series RPM Miami started the show along side K Marie, radio personality of 96.3 Now Minnesota. Comedian Jason Anders entertained the crowd while showing off his break-dancing skills. Latin Mixx debuted their release of their second short film to their series entitled “Hot En El Bloque”, which features up and coming artists performing in very unusual situations. The Latin Mixx Foundation “Mixx Cares” partnered with The Christian Rivera Foundation to raise awareness in finding a cure for Pontine Glioma.
