Gold Coast PR Council Honors Hotel for Campaign Promoting 10th Anniversary of Royal Room Cabaret

(Palm Beach, FL -- February 8, 2011) Roger Everingham, Vice President and General Manager of The Colony Hotel, today announced that the four-diamond boutique hotel has won the 2011 Bernays Award for Best Branding or Image Campaign from the Gold Coast PR Council (GCPRC), the largest independent organization of public relations and marketing professionals in South Florida.

The Colony Hotel received the Bernays Award for Best Branding or Image Campaign at a special luncheon on January 28. Last year’s winner of the same award, Margaret Wilesmith, president of Wilesmith Advertising/Design of West Palm Beach, presented the 2011 Bernays Award to Ruth Young, The Colony’s Director of Sales & Marketing.

In presenting this award, the Gold Coast PR Council hailed The Colony Hotel for its campaign “celebrating the 10th anniversary of its world-famous Royal Room Cabaret. The successful campaign attracted both local and national media coverage and included a mega-party for VIPs that featured live musical performances by Peter Cincotti, Avery Sommers, Memory Lane and The Switzer Trio and great advertising by Aurelio & Friends. All of which firmly reinforced the hotel’s unique brand as the Palm Beach Home of the Great American Songbook.”

In addition to Wilesmith Advertising/Design, other previous winners of the Bernays Awards for best Branding or Image Campaign were Pierson Grant PR (2009) and the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County (2007, 2008).
