D. Shawn Berry joins Palm Beach County Cultural Council as Manager of Arts and Cultural Education
Rena Blades, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Palm Beach County Cultural Council is pleased to announce D. Shawn Berry as the Council’s new Manager of Arts and Cultural Education.
Before joining the Cultural Council, Mr. Berry most recently served as Program Director at the Center for Creative Education in West Palm Beach. There, he oversaw the placement and training of 50 artists that worked throughout the county supporting school curriculum with its afterschool and arts integration programs.

Washington, D.C. -- The National Hispana Leadership Institute is proud to celebrate the graduation of their 20 outstanding fellows from the 2012, Latinas Learning to Lead class.
The graduation ceremony was held Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 6:30pm, at Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. The keynote address was given by NHLI Advancing Latina Leaders in Nonprofit 2012 alumna, Cecilia Majors, who is the Associate Manager of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.

LULAC Encouraged by Supreme Court’s Decision Striking Down Key Provisions of Arizona Law S.B.1070
Washington, DC –Today, the United States Supreme Court held that three of the four provisions of Arizona’s notorious S.B. 1070 law are preempted by federal immigration law. The Supreme Court held that states do not have the authority to establish and regulate state enforcement regarding the treatment of the immigrant community.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Alejandro Mayorkas delivered the Oath of Allegiance to 35 candidates who became America’s newest citizens on Wednesday, June 27, during the League of United Latin American Citizens' (LULAC) National Conference at Disney's Coronado Springs Convention Center. LULAC National President Margaret Moran will deliver keynote remarks.
