(West Palm Beach, FL – May 29, 2012) The Friends of Mounts Botanical Garden will be hosting a major event for the whole family next month:
Tropical Fruit Festival
Saturday, June 23 – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

$5 entrance donation
In collaboration with the Palm Beach Chapter of the Rare Fruit Council International & sponsored by Whole Foods Market, the Mounts Tropical Fruit Festival is a culinary journey around the world focusing on delicious tropical fruit. Exciting activities in the Garden will include:
+ Cooking demonstrations by Chef Allen Susser, recipient of the coveted James Beard Award as Best Chef in the Southeast and author of several best selling cookbooks. Tickets for a Chef Susser cooking demonstration will be an additional $5 per person. Seating is limited & sold on a first come first served basis.
+ A Tropical fruit display featuring over 100 tropical fruits
+ Tropical fruit samples (supply limited)
+ Whole Foods Market sampling table
+ Fruit and fruit trees available for purchase
+ Palm Beach County Extension Master Gardener Booth
+ Family and Consumer Sciences display
+ Local craft beer, food trucks & music.
+ Garden tours at 11 a.m. & 1 p.m. (Space is limited.)
About Mounts Botanical Garden:
Mounts Botanical Garden is Palm Beach County's oldest and largest public garden. Mounts displays tropical and subtropical plants from around the world, including plants native to Florida, exotic trees, tropical fruit, herbs, citrus, palms and more. As a component of the Palm Beach County Cooperative Extension Service, and through its affiliation with the University of Florida IFAS, Mounts is the place to connect with Extension Horticulturists, Master Gardeners, the Florida Yards and Neighborhoods Program, and professional horticultural advisors. Mounts also offers a variety of horticultural classes, and garden-related events and workshops.
Located at 531 North Military Trail in West Palm Beach, Mounts Botanical Garden is open Monday-Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The suggested donation for entry to the Garden is $5 per person. For more information, please call 561.233.1757 or visit www.mounts.org.
