METROPOLITAN OPERA GUEST ARTIST DEAN PETERSON featured with THE DELRAY BEACH CHORALE'S "An Afternoon at the Opera"
Dean Peterson, bass-baritone, whose noted guest appearance with The Metropolitan Opera and top opera houses worldwide adds an exceptional dimension to this program. Dean is originally from south Florida, so this is a rare and affordable local opportunity to hear him perform as a special guest.
This concert will also feature Delray Beach Chorale’s Young Artist soloists in lead roles from LaTraviata, Madame Butterfly, Faust, Lohengrin, Fidelio, Il Travatore, and Nabucco, and with piano and the 60-member Delray Beach Chorale in accompaniment.
If you’ve never tried opera, this concert is a great “sampler” of recognized selections from Verdi, Puccini, Wagner, Gounod, Bizet and Beethoven. And, if you are already an opera lover, here is a chance to hear some of history’s most beloved choruses and arias performed in French, German and Italian.
